Looks good but can you tell us more about the issues you encountered. I've been considering this mod and could use some insight as to any tricks to making it go smoothly.
I picked up a Joe Florida kit from Amazon about $30 28 LED's.
I had to remove the seat, counsel, tank, and battery box. I was then able to access all the areas to stick the lights on. IN realty it probably wasn't that difficult just time consuming because I took my time to ensure I didn't mess anything up.
I ran the front harness over the backbone under the tank then off to the left side so as not to interfere with the seat spade. I then ran the rear harness through the hole in the fender for the taillight harness everything came together in the middle and he supplied two wire clip boxes or whatever they are called I tucked those in next to the ECM plug. I then used a piece of two-sided tape to adhere the switch to the recess in the coil. It is easily accessible while riding.
Hope that helped.
Oh it's easier if the tank is nearly empty! Mine was full it kinda sucked but I just dealt with it.
Edit:
He gives very good instructions with the kit. It was a bit tight getting my hands into the rear fender as well.

I always mess with the Mech at the Harley Dealers or the wash boy's and turn them on when they touch the bike, then watch em look 4 the switch that they think they bumped. lol

Here's mine. I've got about 200 bucks worth of LEDs on it, which includes about 30 bucks on the remote module. I couldn't decide on a good place to mount a switch. I put some on last year and added more this year. I've got about 4-6 hours total into the install, but I've been in the electronics field for 10 plus years, so I've done a ton of wiring.
