I was thinking the same! Your questions seriously made me chuckle (and cough and sputter--but the cough and sputter are a result of this nasty cold I have). I've always thought I could be a spy--but I've got no security clearance of any sort... my closest thing to military security clearance is watching the people at L3 out my window at work as they play around with their Hummers with military communication stuff on them. I do have HIPAA clearance, is that a good start for a government spy job?
I also like that color combo of your bike, it's a good, classic HD setup...
Hmm, it sounds like I'm jumping on the SLV bandwagon, but really, I'm not. It's just coincidence that I'm going to paint my bike red and put skate wheels on my shifter peg...
You'll be alright. Mines orange. It just doesn't show up in pictures.
I remember a time when the black parts were cheaper. Aka the late 90's. I remember hunting down a powder coater after I talked my homie to powder coat his FXR trees and lower legs, here in west Kentucky then was tough. I like blacked out, but not everything. My fxdx is blacked out, but not the header. They should always be chrome and all the bolts are very visible. There should be good mixture black and chrome. The only reason it needs to blacked out completely is if you never gonna wash it.
Black does look best with contrast. Especially the fasteners
Black bikes has been a fad for so many years I do not remember when it wasn't.
It comes and goes in waves.
To me there is nothing that looks better than a black bike, black and chrome included.
If black and chrome then a balance needs to be done.
I'm getting ready to do a trike kit on my wife's Wide Glide, we are going all black except the wheels which will be vette 18x10 chrome wheels.
OK, not a Harley, but well done with contrast, especially the bolt heads on the engine cases. I used to have one and the shiny fasteners on black engine cases was cool...Unfixable wind buffeting and the worst lighting of all time, but a thing of beauty sitting still..
I'll agree that the murdered out black bikes look pretty badass. Just isn't my thing. I like the bright paint and shiny chrome on my Fat Bob. Next time you see my sig pic I'll be sporting a big chrome ProPipe!!
