Is there any negotiating the price for a wide glide? this isnt adding up to me, but maybe you guys can enlighten me. The MSRP for the WG is 17,400 (two tone black and baby blue) 19,000 after tax and title. So should I be walking out of the dealership paying 22,000 for it, after getting the exaust swapped outwith longshots, SE stage 1 kit, SE A/C, extended forward controls and labor?.... Can I cut corners here, or should I just go ahead and sign the papers for 22 large?
Around here dealers are/were giving up to $1500.00 off list. I got mine with Street Slammers, Diamondback cables and a few other trinkets for $17,500 plus 1000 mile service labor free plus 3 20% off parts and accessories coupons.1 for anything in store day I picked up. 1 at 1000 mile service and one more for whenever. At 1000 miles I ordered $900.00 of stuff for under $700.00. May use my last one for Big Bore kit and SERT. Mills in NJ is having employee pricing. 3k for exhaust and other stuff is a bit much to finance.I bought bike then rounded up parts online saving 20-40% then had put on. I also had them do things at one time that they were already removing to do another job and had them cut labor. Labor rate for new exhaust was 2.0. Labor for installing chrome swingarm was 2.0. I asked if they had to remove exhaust to install swingarm. They said yes. I asked how much labor would I save if done at same time? Knocked of an hour. Plan what you want to do then look at whole picture and see what can be done at once and save $$$.
can someone explain the extended forward controls i have regular forwards does this move them even farther?
I know there's a kit for Softails that kicks them out another 3 inches... but dunno about Dynas? You can get forward controls... but "extended" beyond the normal WideGlide distance... I don't think so.
I have a 06 FXDWG with forward controls and Im 6'1" tall . I added the Kuryakyn forward control 3" extension kit and it fits my long legs perfect. I also put on the Rinhart 2 inton1 pipes with the stage I breather kit and download and I'm very happy with the performance.
I ordered the Kuryakyn3" extended forward controls kit, and as soon as it comes in I will be putting it on my '07 WG. Comforting to know Swoop that it fits you at 6'1". I am 6'2", and I from other posts I was thinking that maybe it would be too far forward.
By the way Vincent, I paid $1K under list for mine in Atlanta. If you go to cycletrader.com, find the ad from the Nashville dealer (or another dealer offering discounted price in the same region you are in), print it out and take it into your local dealer they will have a hard time not offering the same deal.
