that is about what they are out here, my first tune was $425, and the ones after that we $275 as they have my baseline on file for changes that i make to the bike, dyno'd 3 times now... hahahah adds up!

also you will want to shop around, i drive nearly 2 hours to my tuner (valley Racing) they are the v twin magic men, and have done a ton of bikes for a buddy of mine that builds some wicked HD motors, so that is who we use, always had great experience and results... it is very important to find out how many pulls they will make with your bike...

That is why I never spend the $500 tuning yet. I am currently running a PV with FM in house map, it seems to run fine and lots of power. I am planing to do a 107ci upgrade this winter, maybe head job and throttle body at the same time. After all, I can proudly spend the money for a proper tune, any tuning done now is a waste.

Thanks for the information I guess the one reason I don't want to drive to far is the cams will be installed but the bike will not be tuned yet so I would rather not find out the hard way that I was riding it way lean.

Well after a lot of wooing and hawing I decided to take it down to Fairbault, MN Harley which is the cheaper one I was speaking of for 300 but longer drive without the tune. I asked them and they do a full tune not a standard map with some tweaks. The guy there Jason (dyno tech) has a great reputation around here (MN) and on this forum (HD). So I am happy I am going to save some money and most likely end up with a better over all tune as well. Thanks for all the help and the links for things to ask the tuner.

Yeah,500 bucks is waaaaaaaay to much.I got mine dynoed for 285 for as long as it took,I believe is was around the 4 hour mark.In your case,I'd be wary of riding it before you get it tuned,I plan on doing cams next year and will drop it off at the dealer and then they can do the cams and dyno it before I can take her home

I have to ask, why don't you just go with the Power Vision? You said earlier that you wished you had already done it. It's not too late. It will be the last money you ever spend on tuning. Can you say the same with the planned Dyno?

Talked with multiple people including they guy who is installing my cams for me with 30 years experience all said the amount I am going to be driving it won't be an issue. So I thrust them, I would not go forever with out the tune but under 100 miles total not too worried. I was at first but after speaking with a couple pros no worries.

I just don't want to mess with it to be perfectly honest, and being I don't plan on any engine work any time soon after this so for now seems like the easier option. Plus I tend to think a dyno tune is still better than the auto. Auto is sweet no doubt and saves a bunch of dough on tuning but I found a decent price weight a well reputable tuner.

Ya My dealer is an actual Harley dealer. I know they did it rite, they are the best in the area so good in fact that people from the city bring their bikes there instead of using the dealer in the city.
