Default 500 for a tune?

I am installing new cams and will need to get my bike retuned. My local dealership wants 500 to dyno tune after cams. They charge 300 for normal tune after stage one. They claim that it's a lot more involved tuning wise, is this true? Just wondering if I should find somewhere else to get it done or is this legit pricing for this time of year?

That's expensive. You shouldn't pay more tha 4 hours of their labor rate.

For $500 you can buy a Power Vision and tune your bike for years to come.

The power vision that's not an autotuner is it? Four hours would be about 4 hundred or so, they claim it takes up to six hours? Because there is more involved with tuning after cams vs stage one. This is what they have told me

My local dealership charges $289 for a dyno-tune no matter the reason you are getting it done.

If you pay 300 or 500 it will be a big waste of money if the dyno operator doesn't know what they are doing....so make sure you talk to guys that have had there bike tuned there before you decide. The guy that tuned my bike actually does the tunes for the local harley dealers here because they know they just can't get it right.

I agree the tunerr makes all the difference, this guy tuned mine the first time and did a great job and has a good reputation. It just seems high, I can drive about an hour away from my home and get it done by another Harley dealership that has a great dyno tech too. Just not sure if I want to go that far and wait all day long there for it. It would however save me about 150 bucks.

The best way I figure on those things is:

1. Would you pay someone $150 to drive it there for you?
2. Would you take $150 do drive it for someone else?

My thoughts as well but I would be driving it there with the new cams untuned which I am not big on either.

Man I could only wish, as long as it's a good tuner that is
