I don't get it. your axle was 3/4" with a 1" spacer. You must be talking about 2 different things here. The axle diameter was 3/4s now is 1". your bearing spacer was 1" thick, but with a 3/4" diameter hole. You must have to change a lot more than just a spacer to do that. One way or the other, no spacer = 6 flags as your wheel will just flop back and forth by the sounds of it.
the spacers that the axle slide through dont have anything to do with your bearings...they are to keep the wheel centered in the fork. If you now have 1" axles...you will need 1" inside diameter spacers. The length of the spacer will remain the same.
I assume your talking about the spacer inside the wheel right? If thats the case you can not safely assemble the wheel withought that spacer, that is what sets your bearings to the righ depth in the hub and also what the bearings press against when your axle is tightened down. Let me know if thats not the spacer your talking about
Usually we say "there are NO Dumb Questions", BUT... Just kidding!
Bottom line is you cannot run without the spacer that is in between the bearings. NO matter what size diameter axle you have. Take it to an Indy or the stealership and get this matter straightened out...
