I just installed 12" z bars on my fat bob, and used the original bushings. The bars have a lot of play to them.. I have read to use polyurathane bushings... And the I have read use solid mount bushings.. I want to hear from some of you that are running apes what type of bushing did you use... Or what would you suggest? Thanks!
I had the same issue. I put a set of 12" R6C bars on my bike and I left the original rubber bushings in place. With those bushings, I couldn't get my bars to center quite right and there was a lot of play in the bars. I didn't like the feeling so I hopped on Ebay and found a set of poly bushings for 20 bucks. Definitely worth it. The bars centered up nicely and it tightened up almost all of the play.
mojo6677, go with polyurathane bushings. I installed them on 1995 Heritage Softail Nostalgia about 3 years ago. What a noticeable difference!! Sold bike to our cousin and he is still running them. Easy install, just make sure you have correct tool for job and have a friend help, cover tank well with soft blanket or something that will protect in case of slipage..
Maybe check Youtube for pointers and opinions. Take care and good luck!!
As others have said, get the polyurethane bushings and all will be rock solid. Once you install apes or mini apes, you won't want to deal with the flexing of the original rubber riser bushings. No comparison!
I've started having some "flex" problems in the last couple weeks with my risers. I want to switch to alloy art's gooden tight bushings, but none fit my 2013 FXDB according to Denniskirk.com. I left a voicemail with Alloy Art, but haven't heard back from them.
What other poly options are there for newer Street Bobs?

Thanks.
The dealership should have them. That is where I bought mine.
I run solid bushings on a 10 inch T bar setup. I cant stand when my bars move around, it drives me nuts.
Got any recommendations? What brand, where did you get them?
I went from a rock solid 80mph commute to an unsettling wandering feeling, and I want the best replacement bushings I can get that will fit a 2013 FXDB.
I verified the torque is right on the fasteners already, but can see the risers noodle a little when I put pressure on them.
