Wanted to see if anyone had Biltwell or DK sturts on their dynas? I'd like to see a picture of how the bike looks. And yes, I know the ride is rougher than shocks. Thanks.
There is a lot more to it than a rough ride. The swing arm is not attached to the frame on a Dyna, it is attached to the rear of the Engine/Transmission. You would effectively be hard mounting your engine to the frame. Probably have to double the amount of Loctite on the bike to keep it together. Folks have done it though, I am interested to see if anyone has first hand experience.

Also making the transmission a stressed member of the frame. Probably OK for just cruising around, but I'd be suspicious of metal fatigue where the swingarm pivot goes through the transmission after a long time or high mileage. I'm also interested in hearing about first hand experience.
I got a set for my bike and took them off right away. My rear fender was so low that my tire rubbed but, your bike might sit different since I have a wide glide.
Curious and not bashing at all but...Why would anyone do this other than to say they don't have rear suspension? Is it the bad *** factor? A true rigid looks great. A suspension bike without suspension looks like a suspension bike with no suspension...I don't get it...
I agreed!
Build a proper hardtail frame is the only way to make it look like a hardtail. The closest thing is get a Softail and work on it. Nuff said

Only reason I could see using struts would be to lower the bike that much where with shocks it would constantly hit and or rub. Either way it would not be something I personally would do.
