Thanks mvinc01 and NEBobba I did get the bulb out but actually broke one of the prongs on the old bulb. No problem except I can't use it as a back up. I'll have to try your techniques to take it off next time. Light does look much brighter though...good upgrade!

Me too,, broke one of the pins,, But after reading this thread I wasn't prepared for the change, Mine must have been really bad cause the new Sylvania H4st, made a major improvement on mine.. The brights are finally what they should have been to start with...
You can see down the road now, still pretty brite in the ditches, but very bright out in front also...........

Agree totally. Got the first night ride in the other day coming home from work and it is much better.
If you thought that nut was fun to chase. Change your Grips and drop one of your Throttle cable brass ferrels on concrete. It took 10 minute to find mine when I dropped it.
Man i did that at least five times while putting my grips on (I assumethe 12 pack wasn't helping matters).
I'm picking one of these bulbs up tommorow at my local AutoZone.

Ha. You found it? Try it on an old wood floor. I only lost 4 of those prixs!
Thanks for the tip on the Sylvania fellas. I just installed my new J&P light with the blue glass, I'll wait and see how bright it is b4 I change out the bulbs. Tim
Just replaced the stock bulb on my 03 SG with theH4ST. Big difference.
Not onlydoes it project a brighter spot, it also seems to brighten up the surrounding area.
Took 15 minutes to do the changeout.
Here are the before and after pics.
The camera had a hard time with the new bulb.It was so bright,I had to take the picture further away.
Both pics were taken with the low beam on.
Nate,
You were able to use your old headlight with the HID?So ifhadn't had the extra space from the lift for the extra componentswould you have hadto replace everything (get a whole new headlight)?
