Xenon bulb in headlamp
I've found this post very interesting. I've been under the assumption the only way to go Xenon is to go with something like what Kuryakyn sells.

I was under the assumption the Xenon bulb needs a charging unit to light it up since it requires alot of amps to get it lit. Once lit it uses very little power. All this stuff doesn't fit in the stock headlight.
I must be wrong, so could somebody explain this to me?
Whatare the brightest plug in replacementbulbs available for the passing lamps on a 2007 Road King? I want to have the most amount of light on the road without modifying anything. How about the headlight , what is the brightest available bulb that will plug in?
I've been pulling on it but it won't budge. I don't want to break anything so any help would be highly appreciated,
Thanks,
- Mike
Should come right off.
I just did the Sylvania H4st install on my 05 FXD. I can't say a percentage of how much brighter, but it is much brighter and a truer white light. Very simple and affordable upgrade. Also gave me a chance to clean out my headlight housing (lots of dust) and re-align my headlight as it was slightly off.

I've been looking to change my stock 2006 WG headlight as well.

I may be wrong, but I believe there are two different types of Xenon lighting... the most common and simpler of the two is a Xenon gas filled globe which simply fits into stock housings... the better and far more expensive is HID (high intensity discharge) lighting. This requires a conversion.....
I hope this is accurate and helps out....
OK, I'm an Idiot. How in the world do you disconnect the original light bulb from the headlamp connector???

the pins have holes and the plug has "hooks" that grab these holes to stop slipping off........
I ended up carefully levering the plug off with a small driver, but wasn't keen on doing it.....
Oh.. and even though I put a globe in that was supposed to be 50% brighter, I'm still not happy with the outcome. I've been trying to find the Sylvania's where I am but without success....... I do alot of night riding and in the bush where I live, so the brighter the safer to put it plain....

I put the H4 ST bulb in this evening. It is brighter, and it is more of a white light then a yellow. I also discovered that I needed to adjust my headlight, and that the tool bag was cutting out some of it.
I'd say, "yeah, this bulb makes a difference."
Also - 16over, that mod makes a lot of difference - looks great!
