Check out DK customs thunder torque inserts too, same basic idea and cheaper. I ran BCT's in my Martin Bros. pipes and loved them too.
yeah, i've seen those too, but i was thinking the BCT's might be a bit better. here's my thinking: the thunder inserts are basically just the lollipop, correct? pretty sure it is. anyway, the BCT's seem like they are a mini baffle with the lollipop welded in there. the reason i feel this may be more beneficial is because with the extra baffle piece of the BCT, you are forcing the exhaust into a smaller compartment and providing just a bit more back pressure vs. the thunder inserts. is my reasoning incorrect here? it does look like the BCT tapers a bit at the end, restricting the airflow just a bit more than the thunders....thereby creating a bit more low end torque. right?
I would agree. I seen them too. But felt I better off spending the money on BCT.
From everything I read by doing a BCT search in google everyone said the same thing 99% of the time. Still loud, Lower tone, and good low end torque. Found people talking about them on 3-5 different forums. Only came across one person bitching about what he got for $80. But he was still happy with the results.

It depends on the inner diameter of your pipe. The ones I ran in my martin bros. did not have the taper in the middle of the baffle pipe, it was just a straight pipe. I think they were the 1 3/4" id pipes, BCT #2004. Larger will have the tapered middle section. They did work well and sound awesome, no complaints.
To be honest, if I knew the BCT baffle is just a pipe reduction, I should have my buddy to make me one at his muffler shop. $110/pair is paid for oversized engineering and a T-shirt lol.
$80 for the monsters, and they do have overhead to pay for. I have wasted far more for far less...
People seem to forget about that. Also I don't weld nor am I gonna buy a welder for the random few times I would use it. $80 bucks is good to me. Wasted way more than that out drinking before. Lol

Very good point, not to mention that people will drop $80 on a thin metal a/c cover, cam cover, or other small decorative item and not even blink an eye. I would say that EVERY item you could put on a Harley is grossly overpriced for what it is. At least the bct can alter performance...and sound which we all love.
