I have to say I'm getting to the point with my 21" front wheel on my WG that I keep looking at my bud's 2012 fat bob and thinking...'that front wheel, especially with dual discs would be awesome up front.'
I've googled and such and haven't found much info or pics on that mod. Part of me thinks that 16" front wheel would look silly on such a long front end as my WG has but my pucker factor when my front tire gets stuck in a parallel rut on the road far outweighs how this might look. Not to mention it'd be cool to have a dual disc setup. Maybe a 19" front wheel would be better? Easier/cheaper to acquire?
Also, it seems there is a set of fat bob lowers for sale sort of locally for a decent price. I know I'd have to acquire some other parts to make it work.
AFAIK, you would need to replace the LF lower slider with an FXDF slider, add wheel, LF caliper, rotor, split front brake lines and just to be on the safe side the FXDF Master brake cylinder.
Post up in the want to trade section. You never know but you might find someone who wants to swap out the entire front ends.
Not a bad idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

All that would be necessary to do it correctly, especially the master cylinder. Usually for a dual disc setup, you need a 11/16" bore master cylinder. A single disc setup usually requires a 9/16" bore master cylinder.
The dual disc would be nice, no doubt but my main goal is a beefier tire up front. I'm not necessarily into the idea of stringing a 21x3.5 to my hub, although that would probably be the cheapest way to go.
i have a front wheel and tire, fxdf dual brake line, rotor and caliper that you would need. i just took off my fat bob wheels and replaced them with wide glide wheels.

Are you sure they will bolt up? I am not arguing since I have no idea what will work, in fact I am pretty confused.
I have read that all the dyna lowers for the 49mm are the same length, and the wide glide has longer tubes. But when I look in the parts catalog the wide glide has a separate part number for lowers (which makes me think they have a specific length for the wide glide).
I am interested in this as well for a similar idea. I want dual disc on my 49mm wide glide and 21 (or 23) inch front. prefer with a 120-130mm tire. Since I can't figure out for sure if that is possible, a friend and I are pretty sure we are gonna trade a FXD front end for my wide glide. Then I can put the fat bob lowers (which I am pretty sure just a straight forward swap on to the fxd tubes) and source a larger diameter front wheel.

I'd have to change the lowers including the axle because 2008+ is 25mm axle. My 07 has 1" axle. The lowers are the key.
