I'm picking up my first twin cam next month. I did post in another thread.
Its a 2000 fxd 88 with Vance & Hines short shots, S&S shorty e and that's about all I know.
I know I'll have to swap up the cam tensioner so I'm also thinking to punch it while I'm at it.
I have built and ran Evos up to 124 inch with Bakers so performance is a must. Though I'd have to admit my favorite bike for ripping up the streets was a strutted Sportster that was built to run...
So what can I do with this fairly stock platform? I like the s&s and the pipes look OK.
Besides engine upgrades I would also look into suspension upgrades.
I strongly recomend the ricor intimidators inside the forks and a "built for your weight and riding" custom shocks. After that, you will have a new number one all time ride.
I run the ricor shocks and love them but also look into JRI, werks, ohlins, ect. Don't do progressive, do it right the first time.
Yeah the suspension is going to be changed up a bit. I prefer wide glides and I'll add an air valve for front adjustment. The rear will sit low so I might try to get a set of the lowered gas adjust shocks for the sportsters on there.
