I went with the S&S 510 gear driven cam, Haven't gotten mine back from my indy yet but either of the 2 cams you have chosen are good, and with the right tuner (TECH) those cams are good to go if you upgrade to a higher displacement (95") and headwork but I would say anything bigger than that would require a beefier cam.

26G's work for me. 535 bucks for a complete cam kit, 120 bucks for SE pushrods, 50 bucks for Crane #10530 lifters for a SBC and 99 bucks for a DFO to tune it myself.
I've got the 26g and have been very happy with it. Comes on early and holds plenty strong through the rpm range I need in a bagger. It's a good cam for an otherwise stock engine and still works well with a mild BB bagger build - see my current build below.
thanks guys,I JUST DIDNT WANT THAT LOBING EFFECT INTHE LOW GEARS IN CITY TRAFFIC IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.thats why i thought by coming on at 1800 rpm ii should know what gear to be in .
thanks jeff
Just out of my personal preferences, I'd make some changes to either that you went with. First, I'd go with the newer SE pushrods instead of the older ones if you insist on changing rods, but I wouldn't bother changing the rods. Second, I'd go with the TTS Mastertune. Again, that's my preference.
The Mackie 510 is a great bolt in cam,Like Dawg said ,save some money and keep your push rods. When your ready for heads ,check Mackie also his heads /headwork is awesome.
Crank run out can not be more than .003" for gear drives...Rule of thumb is...only about 1 in a 100 will exceed the .003"...Andrews 21/26,S&S510,SE203s,woods tw6 I don't think you will be disappointed in any of these cams as a cam only upgrade in 88in motor.
