Heck of a right up Alan.. yours (write up) along with the one mud put together.. makes it look alot less daunting..
Questions..
How do you like your mustang vintage solo? I just ordered one and havent tried it yet.. I am kinda tall (6'1) and am wondering if its gonna improve my seating position any and give me some more leg room..
Thanks, hope it helps you and others trying this mod. I am happy with my Mustang seat, especially for the price. My only complaint would be the transition from the flat area to the aft vertical part - it is a little too abrupt, my butt does not have contact with the seat in that transition - minor issue. Not sure about it helping with your legs, seemed about the same as stock to me.
I put the 30T and Andrews on my 02 heritage ( carb) back in 05. I also had a 6-speed installed. To correct the speed-O, I installed a Dakota Digital speed-o interface adjustment module. It's small and sets under the seat.
Good Luck
Glad to hear stock belt work I was under the understanding it only worked if you went 30/70. That's a big money saver
The 30/70 would probably be close to a zero change to your belt adjustment. With the 30/66, I had to rotate the adjuster bolts about 3 turns tighter and it checks out great.
I went ahead and changed mine as I was already inside the primary and had built out to 107" so thought changing the belt at the same time was a good precaution.
One thing I forgot to post that may help some through a mod like this: my procedures "flow" sheet that I wrote down so I would not get lost in all the back and forth the HD SM makes you do. I could not get everything in one pic, but I would not want anybody to use my list but maybe it will help to make your own.
looking to do this mod to my 13 street bob. If I have it correct I don't need to change my belt? Also is there anything else I should change while im in there? worth installing the se compensator and clutch spring?
No need to change belt. I would go with the SE clutch spring over the Barnett for an easier pull, and if I were in there again, I would install the Hayden M6 primary chain tensioner.

It's stronger than stock but not as much as the SE one. You shouldn't need the SE one unless you start doing some more serious motor work. .
Your SE compensator you have stock on your bike you'll have to decide on when you get a look at it. Look for signs of fretting on the internal splines when you remove it. The 2014 model supposedly fixes the oiling issues.
Take extra precaution to not nick the inner primary seal when removing the inner primary. Tape over the splines of mainshaft and maybe even some oil. Same for re-install.
The Hayden M6 would be a good upgrade. .you can check your chain tightness with the outer primary cover off to decide if it's too tight.
Probably one of the most important tips: ensure the main drive gear that the pulley nut threads onto, and the pulley nut, are entirely clean of oil and threadlocker and dry before applying new red loctite to the pulley nut. .and don't overdo it putting oil on the mating surface of the pulley and pulley nut. Don't want it getting onto the threads and affecting the loctite.
