new throttle idle cable question

Default new throttle idle cable question
So I replaced my too long cracked sheathing stock cables today after draining and removing the tank. Then I think oops maybe should have put the old dust boots on the new magnum chromite braided cable's to cover theadjusting nuts. Should I take the cables off the throttle again to try to install them, or leavethem alone? Anybody do this? Does it matter?

I didn't put the stock rubber covers on my magnum shielding cables. No problems after a couple of years...

I wouldn't worry about it. If the new cables needed them they would have came with new ones already on it.

Thanks. I didn't really feel like messing with them anymore, just like to do things the right way. I bet the dealer would not have moved them either.
