Default idle cable

OK, I'm about to change my idle and throttle cables on a 05 train. Question, do I need to raise the tank, or can I snake'm under without all that work?

Default RE: idle cable

not sure about the train but this is what I did on my EGC,Tied a piece of strong string to the end of old cables pulled old cable out to front of bike,so after pulling old cables out string was in there place, then tied it to end of new cables using the string drag the cables back the same way old ones came out,I kept hitting something doing this but using a mirror could see the cables just above the throttle body and was able to grab em and pull them down,a lot easier than pulling the gas tank..
