Default connecting throttle and idle cables

Possible without removing the tank?

Tank?

Real Harleys have TANKS...

Seriously, you need to tell us what you are working on, they are not all the same.

Are you replacing cables, or just removing the carburetor?

It can be done if there are no cable ties or factory cable clamps. I always remove the tanks. It makes it easier to route the cables as well as checking out everything under - new vent hose and equalizer hoses on older bikes. Also a good time to polish rocker boxes.

Working on my breakout. Replaced the bars with some carlinis and the throttle/idle cables are too short. I can get the tank far enough back to lift up and look under. but can't quite see where they route and connect. I won't have the new cables until next week. Just trying to avoid the likelihood of pulling the tank and having to toy with the crossover gas

Do it right - 5 gallon can pull the cross-over and drain the tanks. Put the new cables on insure no binding withthe routing and put the tank/tanks back on. Much better and easier to do it the right way, than what you may think is easier and cause a PROBLEM.

And get one of these while you're waiting for your cables so the next time it isn't so messy.

Pretty cool - gotta say I've never seen them, but if you have a keeper bike that you change up occasionally it would be worth it.
