So I took my fairing off and sent it to the body shop to have the chrome ring painted to match the bike... While its off I want to get a tinted windshield
I was thinking, Why don't I just tint it myself.
Has anyone ever done this, I know its not glass and not sure how it will come out.
But 15-20 bucks beats 100+
on the other hand I dont want to spend 15-20 than 100+ lol

Buy one already tinted or have a pro do it. The thing with tint film is if you mess up and have to take it off, the adhesive is left behind. You can scape it off of glass with a razor blade, but not on Lexan, acrylic, or whatever your WS is made of. And as stated earlier, curves are a CAPITAL B. You don't want to try it the first time on that WS.

Im gonna make a few phone calls and see what someone would charge me to do this.
Thanks guys
I've attempted tinting windows twice. The first time I said I'd never do it again. Apparently I forgot and tried again several years later. Wasted probably $50 worth of tint material. The windows on that car still aren't tinted...
Not saying you're not capable of doing it, just that its way harder than it looks.
my bro and i tinted his shield from his old goldwing,. all the tint shops said HELL no can not be done... for $15 i said screw it lets try it... worked great! let it sit in the sun for a day or 2, 2 people is a huge help as well... all the forums and shops said no... but i can assure you IT CAN be done (tint the inside as well not the outside) you can get a tint application kit... use lots and lots of the application spray we also used a blow dryer on spots
Compound curves are a real bitch to apply tint film to.
If you don't look through it, try plasti-dip, or paint on the inside.
If you try plasti dip and change your mind afterward you will have real ugly marks on the plastic, the windshield won't take the chemical curing. don't ask how I know!
