Last night while heading home I was rear ended at 35mph by a driver who wasn't paying attention to the road, nor his passenger. Neither one of them saw me until the impact. I went right up over the hood of their car while my bike went out from under me than crashed on its right side. I received a bit of road rash on my arm and a nicely bruised tailbone. I got really lucky....
My bike too made it out in half decent shape. The wheel was dented so bad it wont turn and my fender and struts are warped. Both taillights were crushed. And I got a huge scrape all the way up my fat cat. Believe it or not, my right side mirror caught the fall, and my fairing and bars and tank were all fine, except for a faring bolt that dented the tank when the forks twisted that far to the right. I'm hoping it will be an easy fix. I have a huge ride planned for the last week of July. An adjuster is coming out to look at the bike today.
What are the odds any of the bikes internals are messed up? It started fine, idling kinda low and puffing tons of smoke... but seemed to clear itself out. Anything I should check or make sure gets check?
Thanks guys!
man that sucks... before you started it did you check the intake to see if there where any cracks at the heads or manifolds, could be a bent header pipe as well or air leak at the intake from the fall... that sucks man, my buddy got hit yesterday as well... glad your ok

I didn't check super close but the intake and exhaust manifolds all looked ok. Between my peg and mirror, nothing on that side made contact with the ground (except for some scrapes on my pipe. Sucks you friend got hit, I passed a wreck on my way home, it was a bullet bike, it looked really bad.
This sucks! Glad to hear you're okay though. Bikes can be repaired. Will people ever pay more attention to us? Or the road in general?! Probably wishful thinking, but it would be nice!
That does suck! I know I just had an accident on Saturday. Glad you are ok bro! Crashing sucks... Mine happened when I was cut off. While swerving to avoid them, caught some sand and debris on the side of the road and went down. Lotta road rash on me and the bike.
