I just finished a 4,100 mile, 14 day ride through the Million Dollar Highway, Arches National Park, Salt Lake City,
Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Shell WY, Little Big Horn, Devil's Tower, etc. on my 2009 FXDC which I bought new.

I used about a shot glass of oil, cruised on the open road at 80+ getting about 40mpg and just had a great time.

My bike now has about 23,000 miles on it, has been serviced regularly, uses all synthetic lubes, is now on Michelin
Commander II tires (FAR better than the Dung-Flops), and has given me zero problems from day one.

Aside from a Jagg 10-row oil cooler, my bike is mechanically stock but has a lot of add-ons to improve long
distance cruising; True Track, additional lighting, fairing, etc. and it does everything I could reasonably ask of it.

A versatile bike that can be used for long hauls and short runs to the hardware store. I snowmobile in Yellowstone but never been in warmer months. What's that like?

Very nice. LOTS of bison, everywhere, but only a few elk, pronghorns in Teton, no bear, a handful of deer
and one bald eagle. One day was very damp and chilly (but no rain), while every other day was clear and
comfortable.

Rockefeller Highway between Teton and Yellowstone is being repaved and will be a complete nightmare
once the main tourist hordes arrive.

I have my FXDC set up so that the saddlebags and all other luggage goes on and off in less than 5 minutes.
The Batwing fairing is on HD quick release clamps and the sissybar is also quick release so I can go from
bagger to basic cruiser and back in just a couple minutes.

No bike is perfect, but after 14 days on this one, I really have no significant complaints.

I got over to the bike to take it for a quick test ride. I asked about service records but the person selling it is the daughter. It was her late fathers bike. She said she could do a little digging but he took it to the harley dealership to get the services done.

The bike looks good, new rear tire, front maybe at 50% started up fine. It might have slip ons as it seemed a little louder than a stock bike.

While riding everything felt good except one thing that maybe was just my imagination. It seemed like when decelerating there was a little extra jiggling in the front end. Not sure how big of an issue that could prove to be if it was in fact wiggling and not just the vibes of the bike that i'm not used to.

Any guesses at what that vibe might have been? I know it isn't all that easy to come up with a good answer with the little info i'm providing.
