Default How hard is it?

Was riding the other day and felt like clutch slipping in 4th. Adjusted per manual and so far so good. Was just wondering how difficult is it to rebuild the clutch and what all do I need? Thinking just will use OEM parts. Do I pretty much just need to replace the clutch plates?

need more info, is bike stock! how many miles, you can add a barrnett clutch spring for $30.00 and change it in less than 1 hr. that will help your problem.

Did you loosen the cable up at the adjuster and properly adjust the clutch starting at the primary?

There is a good video on youtube how to do it. Very very simple.

stg 1 and SE compensator, that's about it 20000mi. and yes I know it shouldn't need replaced already, but it did seem to be slipping before adjusting.

What fluid are you running in the primary? The SM has a good write up on inspecting the friction disks. It's a very easy procedure.

Big vote for a strong clutch spring. Mine came with the S/E unit but I'm sure Barnett is just as good.

I don't beat on my bike and still have the the original clutch plates in there. The bike just passed 130,000 miles this past week. Consider that clutch spring upgrade.

Amsoil 20/50, been riding it since adjusting clutch and so far, so good. I guess I should tear it apart and mic the discs. Just wondered if there was any small parts or anything else I needed to worry about before tearing into. Also any tricks or need to know stuff. Don't want to be down for extended time if I can avoid it.

How long had it been since the last time you adjusted your clutch?

Honestly, I'm not to sure, probably quite a few miles, 10000mi. maybe. I should have wrote it down, in hindsight.
