I will try that tomorrow. It is very frustrating considering my truck is in the shop getting some work done to it. And another thing my check engine light came on the other day and i checked the code and it said the map sensor was bad. For 1 i didnt kno that a carbureted model had a map sensor and 2 i checked the sensor on the manifold which i am assuming is the map sensor so i checked it and i didnt get a voltage reading. Could this be the problem.

yes the sensor on the manifold is the MAP sensor, it controls timing advance, you could remove and try cleaning it and check connections, I priced one the other day and was shocked to be told it was going to be 170.00 cdn, this would not cause motor to stall and would still be driveable but would be harder on gas and a slower to get to speed.you may have fouled plugs again because of the sensor

When you had the carb off did you check the vacuum piston on the top of the carb for any pinholes? ANY holes, the piston won't lift or stay up when you need it to. At idle it will work cause you are on idle circuit.
Robtarra i hooked my multimeter up to it and turn the key to the run position and it wouldnt even read any volts. I called advance auto parts and gave them the delco part number and they have one for 50 bucks. Seniorsuperglide i checked that and there were no holes.

sensor may need replacing and you did get the check engine light, great idea on the delco part, I did notice it said delco on mine when I checked it, freaking Harley asking 170.00 for a 50.00 part
did you check your plugs again, might be fouled due to the sensor
well still no luck with the idle issue. but i figure since it was down I would go ahead and take the back tire off and get a new one put on. went to put it back on i noticed that the spacer for the right side.(the short one) has a v notch in it does anyone know if its supposed to face the wheel or face the swingarm or does it matter. and what is the axle torque value supposed to be
well im stuck. now when i took the bike to work this morning i thought i had the problem solved. but when i got to work i died then it wouldnt start. got it goin after work and had to give it throttle to keep it running stated home got about half way then it died and now it wont start....what the f.....
