Would I have to have my fuel injected 2006 Wide Glide remapped if I changed from a Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust to a Vance & Hines Short Shot exhaust?
I don't know if my bike has race tuner because I bought it from the dealership used and they didn't tell me. It doesn't have power commander. I looked.
probally not buddy, it all depends if the previous actually changed the map/after market computer.. Personally put your new pipes on and install some new plugs, do some miles say 2 tanks then look at your plugs for colour,,, chances are you will be sweet too go. The only other way is too use a dyno too verify thru the rev range your mixture values are correct..If not then they can change your fuel map/computer..
I have a Rinehart 2 into 1 and it has a 4.5" diameter muffler. Because of this massive size it hits the bottom of my newly purchased Boss Bags saddlebag.
I was hoping that I could just switch the Rinehart slip on muffler to a different size but after a ton of research that's not gonna happen. Rinehart makes a 3.5" pipe but its for their touring dual system and the inlet is MUCH smaller than the 2 into 1.
Since we have all the new fuels, I was told that you can't tell much at all from looking at plugs anymore. The new gas burns "clean" and the plugs will look white/lean when they aren't.
Most people here say, slip ons need no extra engine work. Adding full pipes/AC does. Personally I would, even if you had it does before when you added the 2-1 pipes.
I don't know if the bike was ever re-mapped. I bought it from the dealership a year ago and it had the Rinehart 2 into 1 on it. It runs amazing with no issues at all.
There are actually 2 things I don't like about the pipe though.
#1. I can't use it with my saddlebags
#2. I really was never a fan of how it looks. The tip was black and it turned a dark purple and looks aweful. I also don't like the megaphone style of the muffler.
I do get compliments all the time on how it sounds though and it really performs.
I have always been a fan of the Vance & Hines Staggered Short Shots and they are very affordable but its a tough decision removing a super high performance $800.00 exhaust and replacing it with a $350.00 exhaust that most people say I will be disappointed with performance wise. My bike is totally stock with the exception of the Stage 1 air cleaner and the exhaust. Also.. I am not a speed freak. I go for more looks and sound.

over here in Australia our fuel sends the plugs black over a long period, hence why its only a quick guide, even our pipes are black inside.. but when you use avgas 100% octane no issues then , a nice grey /tan colour..
THE only real test is using a lamba probe too check emmissions coming from the exhaust while dyno tunning
A cheap read would be drop new plugs in for 10 bucks and put 500 miles on the bike.
Pull the plugs and look at them. ( read them)
Look up on google images for comparisons of a normal plug, rich running bike or lean running bike.
