Toss up between the FXDC and the '06-08 Wide Glide. Prefer the rear fender of the Super Glide, but I love the raked out front end, 21" wheel, factory apes and forward controls, and just the right amount of chrome on the Wide Glide. Not a huge fan of the bobtail fender, although it has grown on me over the years. The perfect Dyna to me would be the back half of the Super Glide Custom and the front half of the Wide Glide, which is kinda where I'm going with mine. Just need to rake the frame and add a couple inches to the fork.
my vote is for the discontinued dx (not that new thing) and dx-t hands down, the new bikes are not what they used to be to say the least, ive had the new stuff and went back to pre 05 just my honest opinion
WE have a 2010 wide glide and a 2005 super glide.
I really like the looks of the wide glide.
But I prefer the super glide.
I prefer function over looks. The super glide is more comfortable over all.
I own a Street Bob and think it is the best "Non-Touring" model Harley I have owned, and one of the best I have ever ridden. That said, I really like the Fat Bob. I have only had the chance to spend one long afternoon on a Fat Bob (I have two friends that own that model), but I believe that I would be at least as happy with a Fat Bob as with my Street Bob. It is nice to have good friends that you can trade bikes with so you can experience other great bikes.
Honestly i like all the dynas for their own individual highlights. Wide glide front end....fat bob dual headlight and dual disc up front....super glide for its canvas...its chrome....overall bang for your buck....the street bob for its raw blacked out bobber appearennce and the switchback for its versatility....with that said i own a super glide but if i had unlimited funds would have gone with the wide glide out the box..
Street Bob. I like the clean-slate appeal, black-out options and just the overall look.
Fat Bob. Great bike. I love the dual discs and fat front tire. I dislike the rear fender, and I prefer a single headlight (although the dual light isn't a negative.) In my purchase decision, I looked at the chrome dash with concern also.
Wide Glide. Probably the best looking Dyna straight from the factory. I didn't want the extra rake or the narrow front wheel.
Superglide Custom. Awesome bike for the guy going chrome. A lot of work for the fan of blacked out stuff.
Switchback. Made for a different buyer. I'm sure it's great, but I don't want or need the windshield and bags. If I were in this market, I'd probably buy a Road King or Heritage Softail.
My perfect factory Dyna?
Street Bob with 16" wheels at both ends, WideGlide forks but without the WG rake. More black options than currently offered (turn signals; bars, levels and controls, rocker boxes, shocks.)
