Ok I bought some chrome Burly drag bars.Installed them ten minutes ago
and I was test fitting things and my Avon grips would not go on the bars
without a lot of force. So I also tried a set of ISO grips I have and same
thing. It seems like the chrome plating is to thick.
Is there a trick,do I need to sand off the chrome on the throttle side?
even the throttle side? that's not good. there should be heaps of clearance its going to be hard to sand off what you need to. I would be returning them and wouldn't be happy about it
I ran into this on a set of powder coated bars.
I just sanded them down, added some light grease.
Chrome is not very thick I would check with the vender, they might have had a bad batch of bars.
Cut your sand paper rather long. Use it by rotating it back and forth. This will keep your hands from hurting plus it will cover a larger area at the same time.
