I have a o6 Super Glide. I got the letter stating the bearing did not need to be replaced. Mine went bad at 8500 miles. I was told it was replaced with a upgraded bearing.
Mine was replaced at 15,000 witha newbearing because it was worn and made a lot of noise. The service manager and tech stated there was no updated bearing, just replaced with another one.
I had to sign a document stating that i would let H.D. ispect/replace the bearing at 15,000 miles...i never received anything saying otherwise since...no problems yet, but it will be interesting to see what happens after more miles.......hoping foe the best.
2006 Superglide, just had the inner primary bearing and race replaced at 6100 miles. It was fine last Friday, went on a 300 mile weekend trip and it started to make noise Saturday night. By the time I got home on Sunday it sounded like it was about to go completely out, it was loud enough to hear over the exhaust. The shop said the race was damaged as well as the bearing failure. It was replaced under warranty and on the plus side, the transnow shifts better than before it went bad.
