I am currently running the stock size 160/70-17. We (girlfriend and I) ride a lot many 400+ mile overnight trips. I want a tire (brand, type, and size) that will be good for this type of riding.
Their is not an aftermarket Blank supplier that supplies wheel companies like ourselves with the 17 x 4.5 blank wheel size. They make a 17 x 3.5 but you CANNOT use that with a 150 or 160 tire because it becomes UNSTABLE and DANGEROUS. In other words... until there is a HIGHER NEED for this Blank size, you won't see aftermarket MAG wheels like this for a while.
We do have a solution for most all Harley models though when we are recommending wheels for it. For most of the models we can recommend a 18 x 5.5 that'll work with a 180 tire. ....
That is such an unusual size I bet it would be really hard to find , I did a lot of wheel shopping this winter and did not see that size offered from any company. If clearance between the swingarm and the belt is not an issue it might be easier just to step up to a 5 inch wide are larger.
I notice you put a 200 on the back of yours did u do any mods.
you were probably save yourself some money in the long run by going to the larger rim, the Harley Davidson Dunlap 180/60/17 cost $313.00 that is ridiculous. That is the highest price Harley Davidson tire available
ya its crazy
up here in Canada they want $450 for that tire 180/60-17 Dunlop gt502
If your bike uses the 3/4" axle, you should be able to use an old Deuce rear wheel, without modification.
My bike is a '12 WG with a 25mm axle, so I had to bore out the hub of the wheel. Not sure if yours is 3/4" or 1", but part numbers are different from mine.
