Default oil drain plug access.

The oil drain plug can't be accessed with a socket and racket on my 2013 SB. There's some rubber bumper on my frame, I'm assuming for the kickstand, and its right in the way. So, its me doing my 1k service. Wanna do it right, as to cross all my t's and ****. So, how's a man gonna properly torque that beast? I don't have a crows foot... I had to go to work to grab a 5/8 wrench, Cuz i can't get a socket on there... Most of my standard tools are at work, so it was inconvenient to say the least. Stupid design.

Must be different then mine. I can use a socket.
Not a biggie though. Just sung it up with a new o-ring.
Aluminum strips easy and you don't need a whole lot to hold it but a good twist on the wrench till contact then just a tad more.
I don't use a torque wrench any more.

Fit a 1/4" in-hex socket on to your torque wrench (I think it's 1/4" from memory)

Not gonna remove the bumper, don't want the kickstand to make contact with the frame and wear the paint off to eventual corrosion...

So it's the kickstand bumper your talking about? You can't just move it out of the way while your doing the oil change?

My Wideglide is the same way bumper in the way. I can get buy it if I use a 1/4 inch drive extension on the socket then I use 1/4 to 3/8 adapter to my torq wrench.

This.

It takes a second to pull it off and put it back on. It's actually listed as a step in the service manual when changing the oil....
