Default Wanted: your wisdom

Hi, I just ordered up the HD LED turn signals with smoked lenses, front and back, for my 2013 FXDF. I was thinking about doing the install myself. So I've been reading my 2013 Dyna Service manual and things seem pretty straight forward.

The service manual has me moving or pulling the gas tank back. When I disconnect the quick connect gas line, is there some kinda valve that will keep the fuel in the tank from leaking out? Or do I need to figure a way to drain the tank?

Be real happy to hear from folks who have replaced their front turn signals on their 2013 or late model Dyna's. Any hints, tricks, tips or gotchas?

Thank You

There is a valve to prevent all from coming out, but the hose is under pressure so some will lead out. Have a bottle or rag ready.

I think you can pull the fuel pump fuse and run the motor to it cuts off as well.

Gotcha, just looked up the procedure in the manual to dissipate fuel pump pressure! thanks!

I could be wrong, but you should be able to access the wire harness under the neck without having to move the tank at all, if anything you might have to slide the tank back a little. But I don't see why you would need to pull it off, to me its a justification for the shop to charge more in labor nothing more.

When you move your tank backwards, have some clean rags/towels ready to put under the tank to protect the cylinder heads and fuel crossover line.
