Which DK inserts for the deepest tone on the Cobra Speedster Slashdowns (same as V&H Big Shots staggered)? 118's or 158's?

Here are pictures of the Cobra baffles, for reference.

Fitted the Vance and Hines quiet baffles into my short shots, took out the standard cheese graters. Vastly improved sound deadening of the high pitched bark, left the deep rumble in tact. On the bike it sounded close to the same except at stop lights I didn't feel like a dork with "small *****" blathering out of my pipes, just a nice rumble.
While riding behind my bike I noticed it was way quieter and I could hear the old GS twin easily. So it made quiet a db difference!

The bike runs better to, could be out of tune as I got the bike with the pipes as is, and I don't see any fuel management attached to the harness. But with the quiet baffles in there is enough backpressure that the bike doesn't struggle to launch itself at low revs anymore. Better response and better manners at low speed crawls. Good capped baffles that force the exhaust to route round and through some fiberglass absorption seem to be the way to squelch the high tones out of the exhaust tone and give it the sound you're looking for. Just need to find what works for ya.

+1 on packing the outside of the baffle. I have rush slip-ons with 2" baffles which come wrapped. I purchased the Thunder Torque inserts and tried every configuration. facing them both ways with the baffles in, as well as facing both ways with the baffles removed. By far the deepest tone that I got was with just the baffles by themselves. I think the packing absorbs a lot of the higher pitched sounds. The loudest was with the baffles out but it was obnoxiously loud and tinny sounding like a drag bike. The Thunder torques do add good back pressure and made the non baffled pipes perform well, but for me the wrapped baffles are the way to go.

Has anyone tried wrapping stock v&h baffles, and if so what was the sound like? Deeper?

If the inner diameter of the baffle is 2" - 2.75", use the W158, smaller than 2", use the W118

Agreed, wrapped baffles will always produce a deeper tone than unwrapped.

Did you try the the "W" version of the TTI's with wrapped baffles? It should have produced an even deeper sound, and, of course, more low and mid range power.
