The fastener pattern looks like its meant to hold a placard or data plate. Maybe a custom engraved placard would look cool there.

Have seen brass acorn nuts..But,he also had brass fuel cap,headlight and levers.I too just powder coated the trim black and replaced em.

X2 looks funny with the band chromed on one side and no band on the otherside. that was the exact reason why I painted over mine.

i've always hated the battery band too. found a good deal on a whole new cover and just got rid of it completely.
