Default Daymaker installed

My Daymaker came in today right before I left for work. I elected to use the time I usually use to grab dinner to instead swing by and install the light. Install took less than 5 minutes. Pop out the old lamp and reflector, plug in LED and replace trim ring. Trim ring is much snugger than before. In fact there is now a small gap where the sections meet that was flush before. Not a complaint really as it's one of those things that no one else will ever notice unless I point it out. After the install I still had time to make a sandwich. Awesome.

Turned it on and good grief that is one bright light. Very impressed. As soon as I got in from work I jumped on the bike and headed out of town for a quick test run. Inside city limits it was pretty washed out by the street lights. As soon as I got to the outskirts of town I was blown away by just how much light this thing puts out. I can see how maybe an aggressive rider or someone on a high performance bike might have issues on tight twisty turns, but I think for me it is going to be great. I need to adjust it as it seems to be a bit high and has a bit more of a gap between the front wheel and where the bright part of the coverage starts than I would like.

I don't have the HD one, but do have the Phase 7 and they are indeed bright. My brother rides behind me because its so bright. Finish off your bike with led, looks great.

I need to look into a Daymaker. The OEM headlight is sort of like using a flashlight. How much does the Daymaker cost?

Roughly a kidney and your first born...

Cheapest I've found it online is $355. I won't make a final judgment on whether its worth it until I can get it out on some rural roads at night. Its supposed to rain both my days off next week but I'll update if I can. So far it seems awesome.

Are there different versions of the Daymaker lights?
I have heard that the earlier versions weren't a focused light and just spewed light in a big blob rather than direct it down the road where ya need it.
