Bump, because I am curios as well.

I wouldn't think you would need to do anything but who know's. Ohlins makes a inverted front fort that is nice.

I have put an inverted front end on my 05. This was a wide conversion as well. In general it went smoothly - but I did my homework up front and was well prepared. Most of the extras that I needed were because of the wide conversion and not the fork inversion. The price of the extras makes the cost go up quickly.

Here is what needs to be considered, assuming you are replacing the entire front including trees:

1) 2005 SG has a 1" axle, most kits have a 3/4" axle - special wheel spacer required (maybe new bearings would work too).
2) fender mounting brackets
3) wheel spacer (if going to Wide)
4) headlamp mount (do the new trees deal with this???)
5) disk spacer (if going to Wide)
6) caliper bracket/spacer
7) turn signal relocation mounts if desired.

My conversion also involved longer forks. I did not consider the fact that with the longer front the bike would lean a lot more when on the jiffy. Mud and a few others have gone to this length and also have the lean but do not have any problems.

You did not mention what manufacturer you are considering, so any comments beyond this would be pure speculation.
Good Luck.

I also added inverted frontend on my 03 Dyna. 1 of the things also to think about is that most inverted frontends are setup for pre 2000 bikes so it uses a different brake caliper Pre 2000,and an old style fender( Horizontal mounting)were the newer one's are a verticalas well as a wider fender than a superglide but you can use spacers if you would like. The other thing not mentioned is the fork stop. I made a bracket for mine so I didn't have to make a longer piviot pin and use hidden fork stops . But that was my preference. If you run into issues with this just let me know I think Ihave an extra.I have pictures in another thread. I will see if I can find it and post a link.

There is another post I did a few weeks before this one I can't seem to find that focused a little more on the frontend.

Thanks Jim -

I knew I forgot something - yes - the fork stop should have been on my list as well.

You might have fork lock issues as well.

Keep us up to date on all of this. Jim squared me away with one of his fork stops, but I have conventional, 3 degree Rick Doss forks. Initially wanted the inverted's but I got the deal of the century on my new forks, and I am happy, so, oh well! I will be using raked bearing cups as well for a total of 6 degrees over stock, 34 total versus 28!
