I was just thinking of putting a beefier front end on my sg and was wondering if anyone has done a swap and what it took to do it. If you dont mind a quick detailed description

Thanks

There are several guys who have done Wide Glide front ends on the Dynas. Dynaflyer, Muddyape, Jackyl, and mudpuddle are a few who have done this in various configurations.
I just recently installed Low Rider trees and new sliders on an 06 FXDI. The actual process of swapping the front end was not difficult at all. The info posted by the guys listed above, and I'm sure many others, could be a huge help in finding and deciding which components you can go with.
EDIT: Just noticed you have an 04. Check out Naz_Man. He has a sweet 05 SG with a WG front end.
If you're looking for something other than the WG type front end, sorry for being off base.
RE: Anyone change there front end on a superglide?
not a tough job - but if you change to wide - you will need to consider a number of things:
1. wheel spacers
2. headlamp mount
3. fender mount/spacer
4. disk spacer (unless you change to a wide hub wheel)
most aftermarket setups have a 3/4" axle, you have a 1" axle.
these items add up $ quickly. also - get a good torx bit for the stock pinch bolts - you really need to lean on them to get them loose - you will trash a cheap bit.
