ive read the searches. drink water and eat bananas. has anyone had the problem of hip cramps, with mids and the problem goes away with forward controls? i get the same problem on my crotch rocket but its pretty rare. i get them every time i ride my super glide. if i dont figure out the problem more than likely i will offload the bike. thanks in advance, Adam
Come over to Biloxi and you can ride my Wide glide with forwards. It will give you an idea before you change yours out...
Have to agree with Jeff an Tbone. The stock seat can cause lots of hip and low back problems. Went with the Sundowner dual seal and all is now OK, except it's raining, so no riding....
Changing out the seat is one bolt. If you get a Sundowner, make sure dealer is ok with returning it if it doesn't solve your problem. A complete forwards set up is probably more expensive and much more involved installing. Not so easy to return if things aren't any better for you... Have you tried variable settings highway pegs? Just another option.. tom
If you are going to consider changing out your seat go to www.meancitycycles.com. They take your stock seat and reshape it to your size and weight. They can move you forward, backward, up or down. The basic redo uses high end memory foam. For more cushion they add gel pads. I am no their schedule for August 22. My seat will cost $120 to redo. Worth checking out.

yeah im looking at a C&C or mean city seat now. problem is like stated above im kind of pressed for time and dont want to eat a week of not riding time. since ill have to wait till i get home to pull my seat and ship it in.
Same problem you have, I first tried the forward foot pegs, it worked. I have since changed to forward controls. The seat suggestions are a great thought!

yeah i have 30" inseam so i dont see forwards being a problem. and im getting a new seat as soon as i get my forwards on and figure out if i need to drop or move back.

I was not offering to sell mine. Just cruise over and if you like them, order a set up. I wouldn't do anything else before you tried a set. I also have a C&C seat on my bike so you can try that at the same time...Just let me know...

With a 30" inseam, forwards will be an issue. I have a reduced reach set on mine with the same inseam. The regular ones are too far out there to be comfortable for our short legs...
I periodically have that problem too, even with a different seat. What made a difference was adding highway pegs to my engine guard. Just being able to put my feet in a different position makes a huge difference.
