Corbin Seats - AVOID
I place an order for a Corbin seat July 1st. The order was for a plain black leather young guns. Straight up stock.
July 2nd I call in because unless they speak to you (and don't want to wait for them to call you up) you have to verbally confirm you're order with them. Ok.. So I confirm my order. A plain, black leather seat. She says they have one in stock and would only charge me $35 to ship it to me via UPS and I'd have it in 3-4 days.
So I'm waiting for them to ship out the seat.. I call up 2 days later to ask about a tracking number. He gives me a fedex tracking number (more on that below). When I ask the guy to confirm the seat and order he tells me black flame stitching. When I explained I specifically said I wanted no stitching at all, he proceeds to tell me Corbin can't do that because they got in trouble for using some type of glue in their seats and the state of California won't allow them to do it any longer. When I tell him (literally), "what the ****?" He's like all our seats have flames now because we don't use any glue and the owner said everyone likes flames.
So now I'm pissed and call the girl who I did the order with. She tells me that yes there are flames but you can barely see them. I explain that it doesn't matter and I didn't want flames. She then tells me they are only in the drivers seat so when you're on the bike you won't even see them.
They charge me almost $48 to ship the seat, instead of the $35 they tell me, and instead of using UPS they use FedEx. It took 14 DAYS for me to finally get the seat.
The seat arrives and it has GAWDY flames, a FLYING WHEEL, and FLAMES all over the back seat.
Less than 8 hours later (and the seat hasn't even touched my bike at this point let alone been rode on), I call them up to let them know I want to return the seat. It's not what I wanted and it's not going to work out.
They tell me no, they aren't taking it back. When I asked them why not they tell me it was a custom seat. When I explained it wasn't a custom seat and just a stock seat off their shelf she confirmed it was a stock seat, but proceeded to tell me she wouldn't allow a return but I could send it in to be recovered IF I pay for shipping both ways, and can wait the 4-5 weeks for the recovering to be done. As to whether I'd be charged for the recovering they'd have to wait until they had the seat back. I was livid. When I explain that I don't think that's fair to ask of me since they sent me a seat I didn't want to begin with she begins to tell me I am being unreasonable. I'm being unreasonable?? now I'm more pissed. When I tell her I just want my money back and will ship the seat back and I'll even pay the restocking fee to just not have to deal with them ever again, she tells me if I ship the seat to them they will reject the package. When I start to speak she transfers me to the receptionist mid sentence.
I tell the receptionist I want to speak to the manager. I get her (the manager's) voice mail and leave a message.
No call backs.
I email. No responses.
I call again. Put right into voice mail. Leave another message. No call backs.
Finally, i get the girl who took the order again. When I tell her I just want to return the seat, it has not been used and I'll just pay the cost to ship it back and the restocking fee, she tells me, "I don't know what to tell you we're not taking it back stop calling." and hangs up on me.
I call back to tell the bitch off and, of course, call goes right into voice mail. That was the end of my interaction with Corbin.
I had to put a dispute in with my bank to try to get the money back. I don't care if I have to go to court or pay $5000 for a lawyer in small claims court, or if it takes me 3 years, they aren't getting my money.
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They really just don't give 2 ***** about any one or their product or customer service.
They will have no problem taking your money, but once they have it they just wash their hands of you and that's that.
I debated about putting this here for a while, but if it was me I'd want the warning. Don't deal with this company. Maybe once upon a time they were good, I don't know.. but not anymore.

If you paid by credit card and you supply the above information to the company you should have no problem. Make sure you tell Corbin and the bank or credit card company you are going to report this event to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB). The last thing Corbin wants is to lose their ability to accept credit cards and the financial institutions hate when they hear those four magic letters.

Thats horrible. I'm honestly surprised. I dealt with them once about 3 years ago and had a good experience then. My correspondence was all through email while I was in Afghanistan but they had answered all my questions and shipped my order out quickly.
The seat is awesome and comfortable. Hate to see what was once a great company with a great product go downhill.
FWIW, I attempt to avoid buying things from California anymore due to the insane amount of regulations they impose on all aspects of our lives.
