Default Cleaning Stock Air Filter

Guys - What is the verdict on this? The manual says I can wash it and dry it out. This is the stock filter. I searched the forums, but most of the talk is about the aftermarket filters (K&N, SE, etc)Anybody done this? The filter only has about 3K miles on it and I don't want to toss it just because its a little dirty. Also, I've spent so damn much money on this bike since November making it pretty that I'm starting to get cheap.

I was raised in a funeral home, but that female in the picture you chose as your Icon appears to be deceased. Creepy.

I still have the stock filter. I just fire up the compressor and blow it out. Usually lasts about 10,000 miles.
