stage 1 installed
got my DK Custom stage 1 installed Wednesday and wanted to wait a few days to write a review, and my results are in.......I love it! I opted for the XIED tuner and went with the HiFlow 587 cleaner. I already had the V&H exhaust. The install was super easy and the results were noticeable and immediate, and the fit was flawless. Start to finish was about 1 1/2 hours due to the fact that I'm **** about checking fit, and mocking it up first. That cost me about 1/2 hour on the cleaner. The XIED was about 15 min total (as advertised). It did reduce most (not eliminate) the decal popping out of the V&H 2 into 1, gave a better throttle response, power, and did lower the temps a bit. best money spent on this bike so far. The folks at DK Custom were very helpful and even called me the next day after my order, to ask a question about some other parts ordered for the wifes sporty, and by then, I had a question also. Shipping was fast....I online ordered Sunday night, they called me Monday morning and the parts were here Wednesday afternoon, and installed that evening. DANG.....I love it when a plan comes together! For a new Harley owner, I don't mind telling you all, I was 9 shades of nervous about doing this to my new bike, but now that it's done, darn happy I did......A big thanks goes out to Kevin for the advice.

now you just need to get the service manual and start watching you tube videos on harley maintenance. it feels good to work on your bike, then step back with a cold one in your hand and say "yeah, i did that." it really takes the "my bike" phrase to a whole new level. congrats on the upgrades.
Very cool! Good to hear all went well with the install and you're enjoying the improvements!

I bought the service manual with the bike, and though I feel I'm a pretty good mechanic I'm going off to uncharted territory with my Harley......but I'm surely gonna' go. Next up are the Harley driving lights. I went with the traditional lights instead of the Halogens. Should be here next week some time. Not much out there yet for the Switchback. Looking for fender chrome and mud flaps next. I love the "old school" look.
