yeah I plan to keep it just the way he would want it. I would be devastated if something happened to it. thanks guys for all the input.
By the way, is there anything in particular I need to pay attention to on this bike? by that I mean is there anything that is a reoccurring problem?

You can use loctite on the bolt and it should hold.
BUT......
I would put the wires back on. If it were my bike I would do everything I could to keep the bike stock.
An unmolested shovel is rare. The more you change, the less value it has.

That's only my favorite stock Harley ever made. I've done extensive research on them, and found out that they're worth next to nothing. I'll take it off your hands for 5K to give you a huge profit.
