Well, the title pretty much sums it up. I'm planning on placing an order for a 5-3/4" Daymaker (p/n 67700043A) for my 2013 FXDWG... I've read that others have had success in installing it right into the stock housing.
My only question to those of you who have done it or know someone who has....would be, what else am I gonna need? The description on the HD parts website says, "Some models require Vibration Damper P/N 67700059 or Housing Kit P/N 67700093." The housing looks too be identical in size to the stock one and the "vibration damper" looks like a goofy little rubber shim or something...? What about a load equalizer?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Hoping for plug 'n play!
*edit*
Oh, I asked my local dealership about it and they had NO idea whether it would work or how to even attempt such a feat... Big surprise there

you only need a load equalizer for turn signals since the bike measures power draw for them to determine whether the bulbs are intact. headlights have no such feature.
while some form of "vibration dampener" is probably a good idea (5 bux to protect the $400 headlight) the housing shouldnt be needed on a newer bike.
