I started out using the stock cover and it worked well.I recently found a great deal on a more sdecorative plate that leaves the ac exposed, so I switched to that. I will say, with the stock cover, it seemed to just collect heat inside the cover, to the point that the cover would be somewhat hot to the touch. Now that the ac is exposed, it feels much cooler down there. Simple physics on that though, as the stock cover is deep and gives the heat somewhere to collect vs not having that area to collect with the open design.
the directions it says that this makes the o2 sensors in operable And they can be removed in the holes plugged.Do they send you something to plug the holes with ?Or is everybody just leaving the o2 sensors in place
I have had that tuner for the past 16,000 miles. Not a single problem, my bike runs great. Install is easy, reversible should you choose to upgrade, and very good at what it does. Lots of power, no pop, and I get decent mpg's I suppose. Plus you can tweak it a bit right on the module, should you need to.
I left my o2 sensors in, as I will be using them again one day. They are fine to sit how they are, the plugs that come in the kit will be all you need to take care of the o2 wiring.
I'd recommend this tuner if stage one is all you need.
I myself, will be doing cams this winter...

The bungs for the pipes do not come with the kit...u have to order them and FM has them. You would only need them if you decide to remove the sensors from the bike, but it isn't necessary in most cases. With mine, which is a 13 sb, it has 12mm sensors, but I wanted to usr v&h straight shots which they stopped making after the 11 model...which meant they had 18 mm sensor holes in them. Since I couldn't just thread my 12mm sensors in there, I just opted for the plugs and removed the sensors from my bike. If that wasn't the case I would have left them on and put them in my new pipes, because now when I change to the PV when I add cams, I will have to reroute the sensor wires back on the bike. Not a huge deal, but one extra step. Other than the pipe plugs, everything you need is included in the kit.
