I have 2006 Superglidethat hadsimilar problems at low speeds, part throttle. It is probably due tobeing tuned so lean to meetgov regs. I had the injectors replaced with the 25 degree ones. It still was surging or jerking, almost dying, barely running it seemed, whenI drove slow through my neighborhood. After I addeda stage 1air cleaner andmufflers, anda Power Commander III to richen up the fuel mixture, it ran as it should have new. No more surging and ran a lot cooler as well.
I am thinking it is running lean also. I have thought about getting the PowerCommander or having it dynoed but don't want to waste my money on something that won't help it run better (although either one won't hurt the bike).
I guess I will save up my pennies and get it tuned.
i remember when i had my sputtering streetbob and they wouldent do the injectors cause the shop couldent get the bike to do it in a 1 mile streach. So i got pissed and went and bought my own injectors and did it myself but it still did it then i put pipes air cleaner and pc111 and evry thing went away and i was happy but then i hayed that rubber mounted motor so i just took some parts off and traded that thing in on a train
You may want to consider getting the SERT and getting it dyno tuned by someone who has experience dyno tuning with a sert. My bike did the exact same thing until the SERT and dyno tune. Now no more surging.
I had the exact same problem with my WG, had the 25 deg injectors installed that helped but was still noticable. Also had backfiring because of no back pressure with Big Radius.Installed a pciii and it runs like a top. Can't get it to backfire on decel anymore? Jamie is the one to work with at fuelmoto....
Hey guys i had the same trouble with my 06 bob. I was able to nearly eliminate it by adjusting my throttle cables. I had a little slack in thethrottle before the before the power rolled on. It wasnt much, just a little slack to take up before the bike would accelerate. took up slack on the throttle return cable, so that the throttle grip had absolutley no play. this helped me alot.It may be something you can check. GOOD LUCK, Cajun.
It's lean surge right at just open throttle. You can fix quick fix this withthe SERTbyincreasing the ve table values in the 0,10,15 range in the 1000-2000 rpm range. 2 'units' equals a onepercent change fuel mixture. I'd increase this area about 3 percent to start and go from there. The only real fix is a tune.
The 'race' downloads area joke. The stage one maps are identical to the stock map except for slight increases to the vevalues to compensate for th A/C and slip on's. I can post pics to illustrate whats going on if anybody is curious.
