So I eventually got my bars (damn you English customs!!) and fitted them using just the stock cables (along with my new burley slammer rear shock)
I love them but I have a few minor things I'd like to change
Here's how its looking:-
from the side
and from the front
So my problem is that I'd like to move the bars forward a bit but I'm at my limit with the stock cables, the brake and electric cables are fine but the throttle cables are really at the limit with full lock!
I haven't lifted the tank to take a look but is there any more throttle cable I can pull out from there? if not can I just get the longer throttle cable or is it a full kit?
Any of you guys done it with stock cables? How did you eek how that extra length
Thanks cam
FYI I'm thinking of ditching the sissy bar as it detracts from the slammed/aggressive look I'm going for
I have the same bars. You can straighten out the metal sleeves on the throttle cables some where they go into the bars. I haven't done anything with with my kickstand and mine is fine.
If your cables are getting tight, I would look maybe at going +2" on the throttle cables. But, if your going there, might as well do the clutch and brake if they are getting tight too.
Great additions mate - feel your pain with customs over here, have some car parts that have been sitting with them for weeks because weren't apparently labelled correctly for royal mail.
Get what you mean about the sissy bar detracting but it does look nice, maybe change up for a tall/thin or stubby one?
I also have a shorter kickstand, just wasn't comfortable with how "tipsy" my scoot felt with standard stand. Thought themouth!!! would chime in with how he got the most out of his cables and such. I think he is the guy to talk to about bars. Your bike is looking real good by the way bro!! Kudos!
