Default Changing top clamp

is this is a simple pull the old one off and put on new one or is there more to it? i havent done any homework on it but im assuming that pulling the top clamp loosens the forks from the neck? also with 15k on it, should i be worried about changing any bushings or anything and will it change fall away?

Depends what bike you have. If you are changing the top handlebar clamp, then it'll just loosing the actual handlebar until you clamp it back down. It wouldn't hurt to change the bushings while you got it disassembled.

I might as well say it since someone will...
Get the manual
In reality, it is a lot easier than I thought it would be.
I had mine appart at 12000 miles for powder coating and the bearings looked perfect (after cleaning and repacking)
You will have have reset the fall away, but that is easy as well.

Not sure what you are planning to do, but look into Loner Industries. They make risers that work with the top clamp that you have.

i actually bought a loner industries top tree thats a direct replacement for the street bob tree. i got my new top tree, forbidden risers, contour pro tapers with steel sleeves (the supplied aluminum sleeves were to much of a hassle). just waiting on my ARP bolts for the risers and winter rain so i can actually do it. i have a manual just havent had alot of time to open it.
