Was thinking that too. You can carry enough to be comfortable on any bike. I rode a sporty to sturgus 2 years ago for my honeymoon from Md did 4700 miles and 14 states on an 883. Now I take my deluxe on many multi state trips where I camp ( and bring everything with me). Not sure who told folks only baggers can travel but it a load of sh[t.
You can make it comfortable to tour if you want.
My theory is I bought my bikes to ride them so I do.
I never liked the looks of a fairing bike. And think it is easier to tour on a bike you don't have to worry about if you parked it in the place you will have a hard time getting it out of.

Ain`t that the truth! On my `09 Dyna after 50 miles my crotch aches so badly I have to stop. Gonna get the seat re-worked this winter.
