Default Security System Question

Hey everyone...I just got myself a 2006 FI wideglide ...a step up from my oldcarbureted evo; a big difference electronically so I've got a question or two and will ask them as they come up -

For now I was wondering about disconnecting the battery and how it affects the security system. Do I simply reconnect the battery and that's it? Or do I have to re-initiate anything?

The reason I ask is that I don't know the previous 5 digit code, so I don't want to create a problem for myself by disconnecting the juice before I figure out how to replace the code.

Thanks in advance...

Disconnecting the battery, changing the battery etc. Has no effect on the security system at all. I know, I used to worry it about myself but no problem at all. Trust me on that!

If you have the FOB you can find the security code. If you need to know how ask me. If you don't have the FOB you can enter a new one, but again you may have to ask me, too much info to post here right now.

I just recently switched out my battery after it was dead for a couple days. Put new battery in and security system was still working. So not sure you have to do anything.

Yes, I have the fob and also the manual; but the language in the manual is a little vague. Any info you care to share regarding modifying the existing code would be greatly appreciated.

Also thank you all for all your responses...that's a big help and a load off my mind.

Cheers!

Pulling the battery has no effect except when you have the siren. The siren goes nuts when you pull the battery.
When connecting back up the battery you do not have to do anything.

There is a special procedure when you have a siren.

Due to it allowing some one to jack a bike, I can not post it. PM me and I will send you procedure. It is simple, but not published.
