Not sure how much you want to know, but this is a good read about 2-1 exhaust. I had these on an Ultra a few years ago, liked them alot. Thinking seriously about puting them on again on my current Ultra.
They generate better back pressure for this engine, which they suggest makes them run slightly better. Personally I liked the look of a 2 into 1 my FXDC. However, on my old softail (96) I preferred the look of a 2 into 2 (Sampson Ground Pounders), and to improve the back pressure I used exhaust cones and it worked well.
So bottom line...go with what you like best, there is always something else you can do to balance it out.
correct me if im wrong but it has nothing to do with backpressure and more on scavenging
Just to be different I think. Different sound, looks, etc. Don't think it really matters, just whatever makes you happy. Everyone wants to change their bike & exhaust somewhat. I opted for SE slip-ons. Did seem to give me a little more power (imagination?). Like the sound much better.
