We should start a cam tool borrow program where whoever needs it pays for the shipping, then sends it back after using. I hate buying a single use tool, especially when it's over $100. Lol.
Side note, anyone know of a basic gasket/o-ring kit that gives u what u need if cutting the pushrods out? Seems most kits give u way more assuming u will pull the heads. So, basic gaskets and bearings.

Fuel moto sells a basic kit for about 150 bucks
The 255 peters out at 4000 rpm's. Depends on your riding style.
Your statement is only half true. Yes torque does start to drop around 4500 but horsepower is rising and meets torque at this point. Net effect is the bike pulls hard to 5500 which is as hard as I twist the engine with SE 255's in it anyway. Torque gets you off the starting line, horsepower carries you to the finish line.
All I am saying is that there are better options out there. Far better.
I understand you were stating an opinion, you also in your original comment stated a lot of it would depend on the OP's riding style.
I was merely stating my experience that SE 255 cams are not nearly as bad as some would propose. After four seasons of running them, I can't think of a reason to swap them out other than if they were to get damaged.
The OP as he indicated he was interested in the SE 255's based on price and a conservative two up riding style. Other cams may work better related to timing of the torque and horsepower curves but at increased cost. The SE 255's generally bolt in without too many changes.
