Default New 4-1/2" risers = Back pain

Been riding for about a month now with new risers (pullback) and I've been ending up with lower back pain. I love the feel as I'm 6.5. Forward controls made me feel better so I thought a higher handle bar would do the same. I love the handle, the look, the feel. I feel riding a better bike and feel that I'm riding a true hog, but I didn't used to have lower back pain after riding. I was thinking new seat, but stock used to be ok, and haven't found one that sends me back and down an inch or so.

Any suggestions? Would straight risers help? Should I try a specific seat? I need two up seat.

Same set up on my 2012 FXDC. I had to play around moving the bars forward and back until I found the sweet spot.

Try to go back to the same triangle of seat-bars-footpegs that you previously had and that can work . If you use higher bars , you may need to raise your feet a bit. If you are using curved risers, try straight, as that will lean you forward a bit. After a certain age, looking cool ain't as good as being comfortable. I've got a shed full of seats, forwards, boards and bars trying to reach the ultimate comfort spot. I would consider using extended forwards to help with the leg stretch, then maybe going back to the standard risers so you can stretch your arms a bit. Also, give each change a few months so your body adjusts to the new riding position. You must leave one point as a constant, say the seat then work each direction from that. You're using muscles that haven't been used before with each change and it takes a while for the body to readjust, especially for an older bloke like myself....LOL...

Sounds like you want to keep your new set up but change the seat.

I've been through many seats and have found that the Drag Specialties Predator (2 up) moved me lower and further back from stock. Supposedly the C&C fastback will do the same.

Keep on eye on the classifieds or craigslist. One or both tend to pop up occasionally.
